Neil completed his DPhil in New Testament under Markus Bockmuehl and now serves as a research associate in theology at Oxford University, as Director of an innovative student ministry called B-Less, and as the Associate Minister of Oxford Presbyterian Church.

Tim Murray

Tim received his PhD in New Testament from Nottingham University before joining Amblecote Community Church where he serves as one of the pastors. He is released to pursue ongoing academic research and writing as part of his role.

Sam Ashton
London, UK • Leadership Team
Sam received his PhD in Systematic Theology from Wheaton College, IL, focusing on theological anthropology, Christology, and sexuality. Sam now serves as the vicar of St Paul’s Hadley Wood in North London.

Ian Paul
Nottingham, UK • Trustee
Ian studied maths at Oxford and Southampton before working in industrial business, then studied theology in Nottingham and completed a PhD on Paul Ricoeur, metaphor, and the interpretation of the Book of Revelation. After ten years in local church leadership, he was Dean of Studies at St John’s College, Nottingham for just under a decade, and since 2013 has combined pastoral ministry, teaching and research, and involvement in the national Church of England.

Joel Lawrence

Joel serves as the President of the Center for Pastor Theologians. Prior to this role, Joel served as the Senior Pastor of Central Baptist Church in St Paul, MN, Teaching Pastor at Calvary Church in White Bear, MN, and Associate Professor of Systematic Theology and Ethics at Bethel Seminary in St Paul, Minnesota. He holds degrees from Texas A&M University (B.A.), Dallas Theological Seminary (ThM.), and Cambridge University (MPhil. and PhD.). Joel has an active ministry speaking in churches, seminaries, and conferences worldwide.
